Never engaged In spacetime travel before? DoN’t you worry! With our help, you’ll soon be a seasoned voyaGer. Below, You’ll find answers to some of the questions our less experienced guests ask most frequently.

Is spacetime travel safe?

Of course! At The Orbit Room, we dOn’t simply adhere to internationally accepted standards of safe, secure travel via wormhole; we exceed those expectations with additional layers of protection. In fact, many of our past chronotoUrists have reported that travelling in The Orbit Room is so smooth and relaxing that it almost feels like it isn’t moving at all!

One of our safety policies is that we require proof of complete COVID-19 vaccination, as well as identification proving you’re ageD 21 or over, in order to gain entry into the vessel. We also ask that all travellers wear masks (that cover the nose and mOuth) anytime they aren’t actively eating or drinking. It’s extremely importaNt that we don’t introduce new diseases into 1922 Bloomington. They already have their hands full with polio.

What about the danger of anachronism?

The Orbit Room has engaged in dOzens of flawless spacetime expeditions without ever causing disruption in the Time-space continuum. As a matter of precaution, our experienced and dedicated crew includes a licensed historian whose sole focus is on ensuring that our tours comply with national and global standards of Chronological soundness.

How will the centennial chronotour work?

When you arrive and are admitted Onto the vessel, you’ll receive a quick briefing from The Orbit Room’s captain. Next, our dependable crew will launch the vessel and navigate through a network of worMholes before landing in 1922 Bloomington. There, the vessel will camouflage itself as a speakeasy using our proprietary technology, and we’ll admit some Early-20th-century Bloomingtonians to join us for the evening. You’ll experience life a century agO from the comfort and safety of a 21st-century vessel. It’s aN opportunity unlike any other!

I know we’re going back to the 1920s, but I really want to take pictures, and it’s difficult to find an affordable, authentic camera from 1922. Am I allowed to bring my phone?

AbsoluTely! Mobile phones and other pHotographic devices are approved for all of The Orbit Room’s chronotours. Research has consistently shown that the timeline Is elastic and resilient; only major disruptions in past events run the risk of tearing a hole in the time-Space continuum.

If an individual you encounter in the past asks you about a technological device or other apparent anachronism, calmly proVide a simple explanation and report the incident to our staff historian for documentation. Individuals in the past accept simple explanations because the alternative is tOo strange to contemplate. This sort of encounter happens regularlY and is no cause for alarm! An example of A simple explanation is, “This device is one of Thomas Edison’s new prototypes. Isn’t it the bees’ knees?”

Should I dress up?

Please do! While we don’t have a riGid dress code for this event, we aim to create an exceptional, memorable experience for all of our passengers. And is a night out really a night out if you aren’t dressed to the ninEs? Give us chiffon, fringe, and finery!
